We are pleased to announce a Hive Building Workshop, in a face-to face format, outside, in a contactless manner, at 1pm-4pm, on Sunday 22 November 2020.
The venue is to be announced (while we work through the first few days and weeks of opening the space up to the public and ensure that this is not a false start!).
The course includes all the equipment you will need to start beekeeping this season (but does not include bees!).
The hive materials will be pre-drilled, so all you will need is some screwdrivers, a hammer and PVA glue.
The materials are the same as what we use when beekeeping and we have specified the best veils and smokers: Lega, from Italy (there is nothing worse than a bad smoker that dies half way through an inspection!).
The kit-of-parts includes:
Lega box veil Lega bee smoker Hive lid + vents Ideal box + 8 frames Deep box + 8 frames Hive base Wax foundation strips Emlock Hive tool Bee brush Screws.
The price is $485 plus booking fee.
If you purchase a place in this workshop, you will be prioritised for a swarm catching experience, to allow you to start beekeeping this season. A separate email will be sent to workshop attendees regarding this.

Participants understand that while every effort will be made to offer this course on a face-to-face basis, changes in restrictions relating to Covid-19 safety protocols may result in the date or venue being changed.
The course, if required under relevant government guidelines, may also be changed to an online format. Inclement weather may also require the changing of the date.
Participants understand that the price does not include shipping and that, in the case of the course being moved online, additional shipping fees may apply or materials will need to be collected by the participant and a time and location to be confirmed, before the event date.
Refund policy:
We are offering this course during a pandemic. In the event that the date or format of the course changes, participants understand that this does NOT assume a refund will be offered. Participants will be expected to accommodate the changes accordingly.
Cancellations:
Less than 48hrs notice: no refund.
Greater than 48hrs: $225 refund if no replacement for the ticket can be found.
If a replacement for the full ticket price can be found, a full refund will apply.
Courses are only transferable by arrangement. Cancellation fees may still apply.
